ELIGIBILITY

This is a juried photography exhibition with two categories; ‘Nature, Undisturbed’ and ‘Southern Conservation Trust Properties’. ‘Nature, Undisturbed’ is an open category to include all nature photography.  The Trust properties category includes photos taken at the Trust properties including Line Creek Nature Area, Flat Creek Nature Area in Peachtree City and Sam’s Lake Bird Sanctuary in Fayette County. The categories are open to all photographers 18 and over, amateur or professional. Black and white, sepia, color, and manipulated images may be entered in any category.  We also ask that photos that are submitted have not been accepted to any other juried photography show in the year prior to Nature, Undisturbed 2010.

HOW TO ENTER

Photographers may enter up to 4 images per category. There is a $25 entry fee per category. All photos entered must be in a CD. The files must be JPEG, no larger than 2MB in size. The longest side may be no larger than 1024 pixels. Files should be named as follows: Category -Photographer Name – Title. All entries must be postmarked by January 30, 2010. If you wish your CD to be returned, please enclose a self- addressed, stamped envelope. After the juror reviews all of the entries, notification of acceptance will be made via email no later than the first week in March. Please keep a copy of your entry.

SALE OF PHOTOGRAPHY

All exhibitors may sell their work.  The artist will receive 50% of the sales price.

A portion of proceeds from the show will go to Southern Conservation Trust.

AGREEMENT

All work submitted is that of the artist. No work submitted can be withdrawn before the close of the exhibit. Photographers will receive payment of any sold pieces after the close of the show.

ACCEPTED PHOTOS

After receiving notice that a photo has been accepted it is the responsibility of the photographer to have the photo framed properly. No accepted photo may be larger than 30” on the longest side when framed. All frames are to be black. All mats, if the photo is matted, should be white or off-white and at least 2.5” on all sides. Any photo delivered that is not framed in a professional manner may be excluded from the exhibit.

DELIVERY/REMOVAL OF ARTWORK

All photos must be delivered to Dogwood Gallery no later than 4pm April 10. All unsold pieces must be picked up by the artist on Sunday, April 25, by 5pm. If you are shipping work, you must make arrangements prior to the show for delivery and return shipment.

PRIZES AND AWARDS

1st, 2nd, and 3rd place cash prizes will be awarded in each category, plus a Sponsor’s Choice Ribbon, and a People’s Choice Award presented on Saturday April 24.    The Trust may select photos for a traveling exhibit after the close of the show. Nature, Undisturbed and the Trust may also feature winning photos in their newsletter and on their website. The photographer retains all rights to their photos.
